The Business Development Executive (BDE) role is responsible for driving net new sales of Iron Mountain’s Information Management (IM), Digital Solutions (DS) and Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) products, services and solutions to existing customer accounts within the Industrials, Automotive, Retail CPG and Energy verticals. This role will be focused on building new pipeline and booking business via prospecting, networking, and executing marketing initiatives and account plans. These actions will lead to an increase in Iron Mountain’s footprint within the assigned accounts resulting in meeting revenue targets
This Business Development Executive position is a combination of both “sales hunting” and “account management oversight” for a defined book of strategic customers.
Assesses the customers’ current and potential IM, DS and ALM needs, and then leads a team in determining the appropriate Iron Mountain (IRM) products and solutions to address those needs.
Understand client's business model, planning, decision making process, and value proposition that drives their success. Also, understands the market forces and competitive environment that the customer must navigate relative to IM and ALM.
Develop and implement strategies and business plans that address the customer’s needs and offer complete solutions that leverage Iron Mountain’s areas of strength.
Builds strong customer relationships, and through strategic conversations understands the client's business objectives and goals. These interactions will be with a wide range of customer stakeholders, from line of business leaders through executive stakeholders. The BDE will partner with key customer decision maker(s) to structure business strategy as it relates to customer requirements, leading to both short and long term execution plans with the customer.
Ensure frequent communication between the appropriate customer and IRM teams to enable superior customer satisfaction as well as education on emerging industry trends related to information management needs.
The successful BDE will be a US based team that leverages internal resources including but not limited to Managing Directors of GI Accounts, Global Account Managers, and Global Account Representatives who are part of the the matrix organization of Iron Mountain.
Expands existing relationships and IRM solutions used by the assigned accounts. They will develop a strategic account plan for each named account leveraging customer knowledge and customer strategic plans.
The successful BDE should be active within the Industrials, Automotive, Retail CPG and Energy industries, staying up to date on current trends and competitors in the space, and using that knowledge when interacting with the customer.
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
The candidate must have a 4 year degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
The candidate must have demonstrated prior success in selling solutions into the Information Management, Records Management, Digital Transformation, Information Governance and/or Asset Lifecycle Management space.
The candidate must have a strong background and knowledge of strategic account management, sales process and solution selling.
The candidate must have the proven ability to translate the customer need(s) into solution requirements that include impactful value propositions.
The candidate must have the ability to influence and negotiate through proven sales skills, value identification, and aligning unique insights to key customer priorities.
